The Last Swell

Based upon the fascination to read the swell forecast, this experimental print concept reflects the lengths we go to see the low(s). Striped down to the two main elements of low-pressure and wind-direction, the final print also holds the well known ‘There are big waves and little waves’ poem.
The original print was produced on un-cropped Somerset White Satin 250g sheets of paper. The large format allowed for the white arrows to hide-or-reveal themself as the light highlights the print. In-fact the scale of the print and the position of the three main elements forces you to focus on the white arrows and red pressure lines, missing out the poem. When you focus on the poem, you lose sight of the wind and low pressure…
